Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, paid for in full, and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world.

Here are a few ways that we suggest you approach your upcoming home sale.  These are sure-fire, proven strategies that will get your home sold for top dollar and will increase buyer interest!

  • Remodel/Renew selectively: Grand-scale renovations are typically unnecessary and may only yield as little as 60% return on your investment.  We suggest you do “light makeovers” everywhere with a keen focus on the kitchen and bathrooms. Things like neutrally modern paint, lighting, organization, and accessories can literally transform a space and they're far more cost-effective than major remodels.

  • CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!: Let’s face it… Buyers simply can’t picture themselves living in a dirty home. SCRUB floors, baths, kitchens, windows and walls.  Additionally, be sure to clean, vacuum and deodorize rugs.  Requires a bit of elbow grease but SUPER effective.

  • Depersonalize and Declutter: Show the space not the contents. Wide open spaces will yield great results. Box up family photos, kids' school papers and excess art, and store bulky and worn furniture. Organize your closets to make them look half empty.

  • Brighten Everything: Think bright and cheery. Natural light and brighter bulbs are your best friends.  Dark areas tend to dampen the excitement and mood of onlookers.  Open blinds and drapes wherever possible. Repaint where needed but use modern neutral colors.
